A view from above

It is that time of the year again. When everyone in the entire institute seems to be either contesting an election, giving or taking interviews or helping others contest elections. It is absolutely fucking stupid. Why do people want to hold every other post ( read position of responsibility ) there is ? A Techfest Manager wants to be a GS, a Mood Indigo CG wants to be a Placement nominee, people who've missed out on the above two want to start their own festivals. Can't people sit back and relax ! There are things to write about in your resume apart from positions of responsibility ! (I might however be the wrong person to have such an opinion.

Talking about resume, Wiki says "A résumé (North America), also known as a curriculum vitæ (CV) (Elsewhere), is a document that contains a summary or listing of relevant job experience and education, usually for the purpose of obtaining an interview when seeking employment." I guess someone should edit the post to include POSITIONS OF RESPONSIBILITY also.

You might have heard abt the ostrich/the pigeon myth. It's something like this. When facing danger all an ostrich does is hide his face in the sand. And pretend that there isn't any. Same goes with a pigeon. Pigeons are said to close their eyes when they see a cat.

You might be actually wondering why am I talking abt ostriches ( is that the right plural form ?? ) and pigeons. The thing is, have you ever wondered how similar many of us are to them ? How often do we ignore something we dont like/are afraid of and pretend it isnt there. How often do we ignore problems we face and hope/pray that they go away. How often we neglect things hoping/wishing/praying that they work out somehow. Give it a thought.

In any case I need to give it a thought.
